Field Security Officer

About the role

The Field Security Officer (FSO) will support CTG’s operations in Haiti by providing security analysis, movement advice, incident response and practical risk guidance. The role ensures the safety of staff and the continuity of programmes through timely monitoring of the operating environment and coordinated security support.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse security developments such as armed group activity, civil unrest and access constraints, and assess their impact on CTG activities.
• Identify emerging risks and movement restrictions, producing concise reports with recommendations for planning and decision‑making.
• Advise staff and consultants on safe movement, including routes, timings, communications, contingency measures and security considerations.
• Deliver context‑specific security briefings, inductions and awareness sessions to promote situational awareness.
• Support immediate response to security incidents, gather information, coordinate escalation and contribute to after‑action reviews.
• Maintain working‑level relationships with client security structures, UNDSS, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Assist in developing and maintaining practical security procedures, annexes and guidance aligned with CTG standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in security analysis, risk assessment and incident management.
• Ability to produce clear, concise security reports and briefings for operational teams.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement skills with experience liaising with security agencies and local authorities.
• Familiarity with the security context in Haiti or similar environments.
• Capacity to work under pressure and adapt movement guidance to changing conditions.
