GIS & Data Manager

About the role

University Research Co., LLC (URC) is seeking a GIS & Data Manager for anticipated U.S. Government‑funded monitoring activities in Haiti. The GIS & Data Manager will join the Haiti IMVA technical team and lead the management, analysis, visualization, and presentation of monitoring data across the project portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the project’s monitoring database and associated GIS and data systems.
• Support the design and continuous improvement of data architecture, workflows, and management procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of monitoring sites, activities, partners, field visits, findings, and follow‑up actions.
• Integrate field and remote TPM data into databases and visualization tools, applying quality‑control checks.
• Produce GIS maps and spatial analyses to identify coverage gaps, trends, and security considerations.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and other visualizations for internal management and DoS reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, data science, statistics, information systems, computer science, monitoring and evaluation, social sciences or related field; Master’s preferred.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in GIS, data management, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex project or monitoring datasets and translating data into clear visual products for non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Experience building dashboards with Power BI, Tableau or ArcGIS Online.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with digital data‑collection tools (KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, ODK).
• Database design, data integration, cleaning, validation and quality‑control procedures.
• Ability to create maps, graphics, and dashboards that convey spatial and statistical insights.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted data analysis or reporting tools (preferred).
