Logistics, Inventory, and Facilities Specialist (LIF)

About the role

The Logistics, Inventory, and Facilities Specialist (LIF) will oversee the refurbishment and ongoing maintenance of a police training facility in Port‑au‑Prince, Haiti. This role manages all logistics related to facility upgrades, inventory control, and secure storage of equipment, including non‑lethal ammunition.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the refurbishment of the training facility and ensure its suitability for training activities.
• Oversee continuous maintenance of the facility and its assets.
• Securely store equipment and assets, including non‑lethal ammunition procured by the contractor.
• Design and administer an inventory control plan, tracking incoming and stored equipment via a records system/database.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure compliance with all contract requirements.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert on infrastructure, logistics, and inventory plans, identifying required resources.
• Supervise local national staff as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience in facility maintenance and inventory management in an international setting.
• Supervisory or lead inventory specialist experience in challenging environments.
• At least three years deploying infrastructure or inventory projects internationally, preferably in the Caribbean or Latin America.
• Experience as an armorer or managing ammunition inventory, preferably abroad.
• Ability to coordinate programs in foreign languages, with possible simultaneous interpretation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and independent judgment on complex managerial issues.
• Fluent English; French and/or Creole desired but not required.
• Prior experience working in Haiti and ability to perform under pressure.
