Operations Officer (Port-au-Prince, Haiti)

About the role

The Operations Officer will ensure the efficient, coordinated, and compliant delivery of day‑to‑day project activities in Port‑au‑Prince. Working closely with the Project Manager and Training Manager, the role supports planning, logistics, security compliance, and stakeholder engagement to keep project implementation running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily project operations and ensure timely delivery of activities.
• Coordinate logistics such as venues, equipment, supplies, and operational support.
• Manage local staff coordination and project delivery arrangements.
• Deputise for the Project Manager on in‑country delivery requirements.
• Support implementation of security protocols and duty‑of‑care compliance.
• Lead project security reporting with guidance from the Global Head of Safety and Security.
• Maintain administrative functions, documentation, filing systems, and operational records.
• Liaise with local partners, suppliers, and service providers to facilitate operational delivery.
• Plan and coordinate field activities, travel, and transport logistics.
• Identify and resolve operational issues to minimise disruption.
• Provide ad‑hoc translation for the Project Manager during meetings.
• Advise on local training and operational context relevant to Haiti.
• Coordinate regular meetings to improve training, delivery, and administration.
• Contribute to lessons learned and best‑practice recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project operations, logistics coordination, and administrative management.
• Familiarity with security protocols and duty‑of‑care requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with local partners, suppliers, and service providers.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and capacity to handle operational challenges.
• Fluency in English; French or Haitian Creole useful for translation tasks.
