Programme Policy Officer (National) – Gonaives, Haiti

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a National Programme Policy Officer to support the implementation of its Country Strategic Plan (2024‑2028) in Gonaïves, Haiti. The officer will work within the Field Office to contribute to emergency food assistance, nutrition‑focused social safety nets, and resilience building for small producers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, monitoring and reporting on programme activities aligned with the CSP objectives.
• Coordinate with national and local partners to strengthen capacities for food security and climate‑resilience interventions.
• Support the design and implementation of nutrition‑oriented social safety nets and emergency assistance.
• Prepare policy briefs, analytical notes and contribute to evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and documentation of best practices.

Required profile

• Haitian national, fluent in French and Creole; English proficiency is an asset.
• Relevant university degree in social sciences, development studies, agriculture, nutrition or related field.
• Experience in humanitarian or development programmes, preferably in food security or nutrition.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
