Security Associate (G‑6) – 6‑Month TA in Port‑au‑Prince

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Security Associate (G‑6) on a six‑month temporary assignment to provide practical, operational, and field‑based security support in Port‑au‑Prince, Haiti. The role involves safeguarding staff, premises, and assets while ensuring compliance with UN security policies.

Key responsibilities

• Accompany UNICEF personnel on missions and field movements, providing security escort as needed.
• Observe, collect, and report security‑related information from the field.
• Maintain regular liaison with local authorities, community interlocutors, and other stakeholders.
• Support the Security Manager in mission planning, risk assessments, and capacity‑building activities.
• Drive when required, adhering to defensive‑driving standards and UN travel protocols.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education and relevant technical/security training (e.g., guarding, first aid, defensive driving).
• Valid national driver’s licence.
• Minimum six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a security‑related environment.
• Fluency in French.
