Senior Outbreak Prevention & Response Advisor (Haiti)

About the role

The Senior Outbreak Prevention and Response Advisor will support Haiti’s Ministry of Public Health and Population in preventing, detecting and responding to infectious disease threats. Working under the U.S. Department of State’s LEAP Global initiative, the advisor will align national actions with the America First Global Health Strategy and recent Presidential Executive Orders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level advisory support to the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP/DPSPE) to shape national strategies, policies and priorities for outbreak prevention, detection and response.
• Lead the design and oversight of integrated, evidence‑based approaches that strengthen community surveillance systems, early‑warning mechanisms and outbreak response capacities at national and sub‑national levels.
• Guide the identification and prioritisation of high‑risk health threats and coordinate multisectoral collaboration with community health workers.
• Support the implementation of evidence‑based interventions consistent with the Multisectoral Health Framework and U.S. government priorities.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in infectious disease outbreak prevention, detection and response.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government ministries and international partners in a public‑health context.
• Strong understanding of global health security objectives and U.S. Department of State health strategies.
