Technician – Electrical Engineering (Talent Pooling)

About the role

This position is focused on conducting thorough electrical inspections, testing, and quality assessments for low and medium‑voltage systems across a range of facilities. The technician will ensure compliance with IEC/NEC standards and support safe, reliable operation of electrical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect low‑ and medium‑voltage electrical systems, circuits, cabling, and conduits.
• Test and verify fixtures, switchgear, panel boards, distribution boards, transformers, grounding and lightning‑protection installations.
• Assess lighting, emergency lighting, control systems, signal/data lines, UPS systems, battery banks, and emergency power equipment.
• Conduct safety inspections for fire sensors, alarms, and emergency lighting, and record electrical load monitoring data.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings, corrective actions, and material quantity estimates.
• Report health, safety, environmental, and food‑safety hazards and near‑miss incidents, adhering to ISO standards.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of electrical inspection experience.
• Strong knowledge of IEC/NEC standards for low/medium‑voltage systems.
• Ability to work safely with personal protective equipment and attend daily safety briefings.
• Fluency in English; French or Creole is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with multimeters.
• Experience using insulation testers.
• Ability to operate circuit analyzers.
