Area Coordinator – Humanitarian Programmes

About the role

Acted, a humanitarian and development organisation working in 43 countries, is looking for an Area Coordinator. The postholder represents Acted's interests with local authorities, donors, beneficiary communities and other key stakeholders, is part of the senior management team and ensures programme quality, operational implementation and strong representation. The Area Coordinator directly supervises Project Managers and oversees day-to-day operations and security in the assigned area.

Key responsibilities

• Positioning, context analysis and strategy implementation
• Networking, positioning and general representation, proposal development and advocacy
• Promoting the Acted network
• Staff management and internal coordination
• Project implementation, follow-up, tracking and quality control
• Partner management, flat management, finance, logistics and IT, administration and HR, transparency/compliance and security management

Required profile

• Background in international development, emergency operations or humanitarian programmes
• Extensive project management experience in emergency and/or development programmes
• At least four years' relevant professional experience, preferably including security management
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Ability to work under pressure, strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and flexibility

Required skills

• Basic management skills preferred (HR, finance, logistics)

• Salary depending on education level and security level, plus a monthly living allowance of $300
