Chief of Unit, Risk Management and Compliance

About the role

The United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) is seeking a senior professional to lead its Risk Management and Compliance Unit. Reporting to the Senior Administrative Officer, the incumbent will serve as the focal point for external oversight bodies and own the mission’s risk management framework.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engagement with the United Nations Board of Auditors, Joint Inspection Unit (JIU) and Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS), coordinating audit visits and response actions.
• Maintain and embed the mission’s risk register into strategic and operational planning, producing regular risk analysis and reporting.
• Oversee the preparation and implementation of the unit’s annual work plan, ensuring effective use of resources.
• Facilitate field visits of oversight bodies, arrange logistics, and ensure programme managers and staff are available.
• Track and report on recommendations, material weaknesses and reportable conditions, advising senior management on acceptance or rejection.
• Report on key performance indicators for the Delegation of Authority framework and produce the Statement of Internal Controls.

Required profile

• UN P‑4 level professional with extensive experience in risk management, compliance and audit oversight.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with external oversight bodies and internal units.
• Strong understanding of UN administrative and governance processes.
• Experience in preparing work plans, risk registers and performance reporting.
