About the role

The Close Protection Team Leader (FS-5) is based in the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) in Port‑au‑Prince. The incumbent supervises and coordinates close‑protection operations for designated officials, ensuring compliance with UN security policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise day‑to‑day close‑protection operations for designated senior officials.
• Provide operational direction and supervision to Close Protection Officers (FS‑4) and supporting personnel.
• Monitor the local threat environment and adjust protection measures accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with the UN Close Protection Manual, security policies and operational instructions.
• Conduct briefings, debriefings and contribute to training for protection personnel.

Required profile

• Professional background in military, police or security with strong knowledge of close‑protection techniques.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to assess and respond to threats.
• Proven ability to lead teams under stress and coordinate complex security operations.
• Strong communication skills for delivering clear operational instructions and reports.
