Transport Assistant

About the role

The United Nations Support Office in Haiti is recruiting a Transport Assistant in Port-au-Prince on a 6-month consultant basis, working in person. The role supports the daily coordination of dispatch, vehicle movements, reception and registration of vehicles and equipment, and keeps fleet and movement records accurate and traceable.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating dispatch activities and vehicle movements so that transport resources are allocated efficiently.
• Support the reception, registration, inspection and documentation of incoming vehicles, MEH, containers and transport equipment.
• Maintain and update databases, fleet records, movement logs, dashboards and other operational documentation.
• Coordinate vehicle and equipment movements between inspection areas, workshop bays, storage locations, washing facilities and dispatch points.
• Liaise with drivers, technicians, dispatch personnel, supervisors and end users.
• Provide administrative and operational support to daily workshop, dispatch (UNTAP) and transport operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of work experience in administration, transport or a related field.
• Experience in fleet operations, transportation coordination and administrative processes.
• Fluency in French and Creole at UN Level II; English fluency is desirable.
• Valid national driver's license.
