Assistant Director of Membership Services

About the role

The Assistant Director of Membership Services will support the Development leadership at Liberty University in executing fundraising initiatives, events and campaigns. The role focuses on communicating the value of giving, maintaining and growing donor relationships, and ensuring effective stewardship of supporters.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Development leadership with fundraising initiatives, events, and campaigns.
• Communicate the value of giving and nurture donor relationships.
• Oversee acknowledgment, engagement, and communication to steward, cultivate, and upgrade donors.
• Support frontline fundraisers in creating meaningful stewardship plans.
• Ensure timely and accurate data entry, including contact reports.
• Build relationships with schools and programs across Liberty University and provide strategic stewardship support.
• Identify and develop stewardship initiatives that demonstrate donor impact.
• Articulate and defend Liberty University’s Christian educational mission.
• Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive documents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Two years of relevant experience in fundraising or relationship building within a non‑profit or university setting.
• High level of professionalism and ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, donors, and students.
• Detail‑oriented with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience working with diverse individuals and maintaining confidentiality.

Required skills

• Experience with fundraising CRM/database systems.
