Maintenance Technician - Depot

About the role

The John Stewart Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support its depot and residential communities. The role involves a mix of preventative, emergency, cosmetic and routine maintenance tasks, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and respond to work orders, following up with residents and management as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance and keep schedules up to date.
• Carry out cosmetic and routine maintenance throughout the community.
• Prepare units for new move‑ins, conduct move‑in and move‑out inspections, and meet turnover deadlines.
• Conduct quarterly inspections with the Property Manager.
• Repair and troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and masonry issues.
• Coordinate, schedule, and oversee vendor work when required.
• Provide on‑call coverage for off‑shift and weekend emergencies.

Required profile

• Ability to work on‑call and reliable transportation.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills with fluency in English; bilingualism is a plus.
• Strong time‑management abilities.
• Minimum two years of experience performing similar maintenance tasks in an apartment development or comparable setting.
• Knowledge of REAC or other regulatory inspections is advantageous.
