Logistics Assistant

About the role

The United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) seeks a temporary Logistics Assistant to support the smooth flow of equipment, supplies and personnel for the mission’s operations in Port‑au‑Prince. The role reports to the Logistics Officer and is based in the Mission Support Center.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and record requests for supplies, equipment and logistical support, ensuring accurate tracking of deliveries and issues.
• Coordinate with supply, warehouse, and property management units to verify status of requested items and support movement of personnel and cargo.
• Assist in planning and executing official visits, transport arrangements and convoy operations, maintaining detailed movement records.
• Prepare logistical assessments, reports and maintain files related to Letters of Assistance and Service Level Agreements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational certificate in logistics or transportation is desirable.
• Minimum five years of progressive logistics experience, including engagement with government counterparts and suppliers.
• Fluency in English and French at UN Level II (reading, writing, listening) and Level II speaking.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using the Field Support Suite (FSS) for movement requests.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a manual‑transmission 4×4 vehicle.
