Senior Tactical Instructor

About the role

The Senior Tactical Instructor leads urban tactical training for HNP recruits and co‑instructors, delivering advanced classroom, range, and field instruction. Reporting to the Training Manager, the role ensures high‑quality instruction, safety compliance, and effective mentorship across all training environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instruction on urban tactical operations, patrolling, room clearing, MOUT/CQB, vehicle checkpoints, convoy operations, base defense, and weapons handling.
• Plan, supervise, and evaluate scenario‑based exercises, practical lanes, rehearsals, and demonstrations.
• Mentor junior instructors and host‑nation co‑instructors on lesson delivery, safety measures, and training methodology.
• Assist the Training Manager in refining lesson plans, instructional materials, training aids, and scenario design.
• Enforce safety procedures during classroom, range, and field activities and coordinate with the Range Conducting Officer.
• Assess student performance, provide after‑action reviews, and recommend qualifications, remediation, or graduation.
• Maintain accountability for weapons, ammunition, PPE, and other training equipment.
• Oversee daily preparation, setup, and reset of training areas and ensure compliance with lesson plans and safety standards.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Extensive experience in law‑enforcement or military tactical training.
• Proven ability to mentor and supervise instructors.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and range management.
• Ability to integrate human‑rights, rule‑of‑law, and ROE considerations into training.
