Biomedical Manager

About the role

The Biomedical Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring all logistics activities related to medical and cold‑chain equipment in line with MSF protocols. The role ensures that equipment is installed, maintained and available to support the mission’s health services.

Key responsibilities

• Define objectives and plan biomedical and cold‑chain activities, reviewing annual budgets to meet mission needs.
• Monitor implementation of biomed activities, ensuring compliance with MSF standards and reporting to the Project Coordinator.
• Oversee equipment management procedures, including installation, disposal, renewal, preventive and curative maintenance, fault diagnosis and certification.
• Coordinate equipment exchange between projects, manage packing, shipment and liaison with service providers.
• Organise stock management, conduct inventories of spare parts and backup equipment, and assess local purchase quality.
• Manage biomed technicians, plan their activities and support HR processes such as recruitment, training and evaluation.
• Provide technical support and training to staff on equipment use, maintenance and hygiene.
• Prepare monthly reports on maintenance activities and technical performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in biomedical equipment management within humanitarian or health‑care settings.
• Strong knowledge of medical and cold‑chain devices such as oxygen concentrators, anaesthesia machines and ultrasound equipment.
• Ability to lead a team of technicians and collaborate with logistics, HR and project coordinators.
• Excellent organizational and reporting skills.
